At the foundries in Berlin and Brieselang, alu-druckguss produces over seven million raw parts every year. The machine pool consists of 22 cold-chamber diecasting machines from Bühler in the clamping force range of 400 to 1,200 MN. An expansion in the large machine segment up to 2,400 MN is planned. Products range from parts for steering units, transmissions, engines, pumps, holding systems and filters to non-automotive parts for medical technology or gas meter construction. The part weights vary from 100 g to 10 kg. Fully automated casting cells with spraying and removal robots and ingenious deburring technology ensure cost-optimised production, and are a guarantee for controlled quality. The casting process is supported by vacuum technology, SC-controlled injection, partial squeezing and vacuum metallizing of the casting moulds. The quality of the raw parts and the material is continually moni- tored with x-ray and penetration systems as well as spectrographs.
